YOU ARE A PART OF:
The Engineering team consists of engineers with diverse backgrounds and expertise. The Engineering team works in close collaboration with Operations, R&D, and Purchasing. You will be involved in the design, development, documentation and validation of new customer products, and modification of existing products including defining requirements, timelines, and deliverables with a focus on prototypes, process development, design verification, clinical builds, training production, and preparation for process validation and manufacturing transfer of products.
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Applications Engineering is responsible for leading a team of Application Engineers in supporting the Engineering Services platforms. The position will appropriately evaluate opportunities for the organization to determine appropriate resources to satisfy the customer requests and potential downstream risks to deliver acceptable timelines and schedules. This position works closely with other functional areas to understand strategies and implement initiatives to support high growth accounts.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the performance of the Applications Engineering team by establishing and monitoring key
metrics
Provide ongoing coaching and training required to perform the duties of the Applications Engineers
Work closely with sales and customer service to understand strategies and implement initiatives to
support high growth accounts
Partner with Sales leaders as an integral part of the pre-sales, customer acquisition team to drive
increased close rates and excellent customer experience
Establish and monitor key metrics on proposal development and adoption
Communicate revenue opportunities and risks to sales
Coordinate appropriate personnel to provide technical expertise at customer meetings, tradeshows,
plant tours upon request
Handle customers technical objections by focusing on value and then communicate the content
and insights from these discussions with sales
Document all customer interactions in CRM and utilize the features of CRM to move the sales
process forward
Support extensions to Cirtecs services by tracking customer requests and participating in the
setting of development priorities
Assists Engineers with developing and facilitating training material for service enhancements and
new service launch content
Work with functional teams to address quality, process and business issues in the manufacturing
environment
Resolves issues diplomatically in a logical, non-emotional manner
Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department
Complies with company, quality, and safety standards, policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Biomedical / Mechanical / Electronics / Computer engineering discipline with at least 5 years
of experience within the medical device industry
Must have experience working on medical device development projects from design through
transfer to production
7 years experience in the engineering / manufacturing environment of medical device component
assembly
Experience with active implant devices or implantable components preferred
Must have a minimum of 5 years of medical device development proposal writing experience or from a similar regulated industry
Must possess strong understanding and working knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21CFR820
based Quality Systems and Design Control
Must be able to interpret technical drawings, product requirements, design specifications and
relevant technical documents
Must have proficiency in MS Office software
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
Willingness to travel, if required
